Getting Started in the Tillo Sandbox
Welcome to Tillo! We want to help you get your integration up and running as quickly and smoothly as possible.
The moment your account is created, you are granted immediate access to the Tillo Sandbox—our dedicated testing environment. This allows your team to dive straight into the API integration and begin placing test orders without delay.
Here is everything you need to know to hit the ground running.
Accessing Your Accounts
To give you the best of both worlds, we provide access to two separate environments from day one: Sandbox (for testing) and Production (for your live setup).
The Sandbox Environment
Who gets access? We automatically set up the Technical Contact (specified during your partner sign-up) with access to the Sandbox.
How to log in: You will receive an activation email to create your password. Once set up, you can log in at: https://sandbox.tillo.dev
The Production Environment
What is it for? Sandbox is completely isolated from your live production account. While developers work in the Sandbox, you can use the production environment to explore the system, complete your company profile, and prepare for launch.
How to log in: You will receive a separate invitation email to set your password for your main Tillo account. Log in here: https://app.tillo.io/
Navigating the Sandbox Hub
Your User Role & Adding Staff
As the Technical Contact, you are granted IT Admin rights in the Sandbox. This gives you full control over your API settings, credentials, and IP whitelisting.
Need to bring in more developers? Adding your team is simple:
Navigate to the Company page in the left-hand navigation bar.
Select Users, then click Add Staff.
You can toggle IT Admin rights for any new users here.
Managing Brands
Your Sandbox account comes pre-loaded with a core selection of brands so you can start testing immediately.
Go to the Brands page to see your current list under the Your Brands tab.
To test with additional brands, switch to the Available tab, select a brand, and click Add Brand.
Test Funds
No need to worry about loading a balance just yet. We pre-fund your Sandbox account with plenty of test floats so you can place test orders right away. You can view your available test balances on the Monies on Account page.
Step-by-Step API Setup
Before you make your first API call, you need to configure your security and credentials within the Sandbox Hub.
Step 1: Whitelist Your IP Address
For security purposes, our API will only accept requests from recognized locations.
Go to the API Admin page and select the IP Whitelist tab.
Click Add New IP Address.
Enter your IP address and add a helpful note (e.g., "Office VPN" or "Dev Server") to identify it later.

Click Add Address. The IP will immediately move to your "Live" list and be active.
Step 2: Create Your API Key and Secret
We have already created a default API user for you, which you can find under the Users tab on the API Admin page.
Click into the pre-created API user.
Select Create access key.
Important: Your API secret will only be displayed once. Make sure to copy and securely store it immediately.

Start Integrating
With your IP whitelisted and credentials in hand, you are ready to build. Use these resources to guide your development:
Quick Start Guide: Review our step-by-step [Quick Start Guide] for a smooth initial setup.
API Overview: Get a high-level understanding of how our technology works at the [Tillo API] documentation portal.
API Reference & Postman: Explore specific endpoints in the [Tillo API v2] documentation. From here, you can click "Run in Postman" to download our official collection and test live requests using your Sandbox credentials.
The Path to Production: Certification
As you develop your integration, you will need to fill out the Certification Document that was attached to your "Welcome to Sandbox" email.
To fully certify your integration and launch you onto the live Tillo network, we require this document to be completed for each endpoint you implement. Please ensure you include:
Clear descriptions of your user journeys.
Screenshots demonstrating how the brands and digital rewards are displayed to your end-users.
