How to Add New Brands to Your Tillo Catalogue
Whether you’ve just spotted a new brand announcement or you’re browsing our global directory to expand your offering, enabling a new brand on your platform is a straightforward process managed directly within the Tillo Hub.
This guide walks you through the step-by-step workflow to add a brand, while highlighting the critical currency, finance, and approval nuances that keep your operations running smoothly.
Step 1: Locate the Brand in Your Hub
First, navigate to the available brand directory within your account.
Using the purple navigation menu on the left-hand side of your screen, click Brands.
Select the Available tab at the top left of the page.
Use the search bar to find the specific brand you want to add (e.g., Nike or Crumbl).
Step 2: Open Brand Details & Identify Approval Path
Once you click on your chosen brand, you will be taken to its dedicated details page. Look at the button outlined in green the top right corner—it will explicitly tell you whether the brand can be launched instantly or requires manual sign-off:
"Add Brand" (Instant Activation): This means the brand is pre-approved for your account. Clicking this allows you to add the brand to your portfolio immediately without any back-and-forth, making it the fastest way to scale your catalogue.
"Request Brand" (Requires Approval): This indicates that the brand requires a manual review before it can become accessible. This process often involves the brand reviewing your redemption user journey to ensure compliance with their specific guidelines. If required, you may need to submit a mockup or screenshot of your user journey for sign-off.
Step 3: Choose Your Relationship Model
Clicking either button will open a configuration window. You will need to select your commercial relationship type from the dropdown menu:
Option A: Monies on Account (standard)
Select this if you plan to pre-fund your account balance to purchase this brand's digital gift cards.
Option B: Brand Credit
Select this if you have a direct credit line agreement already established with the brand.
Note: If you want to use brand credit, you must discuss and arrange this with the brand directly before making the request in Tillo.
Step 4: Complete the Request
Depending on the relationship model you selected, follow the final prompts:
For Monies on Account: Select the option from the dropdown and click the final blue action button.
For Brand Credit: Select the option, check the box confirming "Already agreed terms," and enter the name of your Commercial Contact at the brand. (The final button will remain greyed out until this contact field is filled). Finally, click the blue action button to submit.
Step 5: Review Your Brands
A requested brand will sit in your brands under Pending status until it has been approved. You will receive an email notification once your brand is approved. If the brand is pre-approved, it will be added to your brands immediately.
💡Things to Note:
Currency Before Brands
A common point of confusion is whether to set up your funding float before or after adding a brand. You must add the brand first. The float for a given currency is generated automatically on the back-end only after a buyer adds their first brand in that currency. Requesting a float setup before a brand exists works in the wrong order.
If you try to add a brand in a currency that hasn't been set up on your account yet, the Hub will flag this automatically. For example, if you are a USD-only partner trying to add a UK brand, you will see the following alert:
Float Top-Up Rules Differ by Currency
How you fund your catalogue depends entirely on the currency type:
Base Currencies (e.g., GBP, USD, EUR) can be topped up directly via standard transfer requests in the Hub.
Face Value Currencies (e.g., PLN, SEK, NOK) are attached to international payments and cannot be directly topped up via standard transfer—they are funded automatically through the FX (Foreign Exchange) process.
Launching a Large Catalogue?
If you are onboarding as a new buyer or executing a massive expansion involving dozens of brands or currencies at once, doing this one-by-one can be time-consuming.
Tillo supports streamlined scaling options to accelerate your launch, including bulk brand addition tools and the ability to default new accounts to our extensive library of pre-approved brands. If you are planning a large-scale catalogue launch, reach out to your Tillo Account Manager or our Support Team, and we will help orchestrate it.
